A great race for anyone who is just starting (like me) or looking for a less crowded race. I found the race challenging, but not discouraging. The swim was in the Rappahanock River - a good triangular course and a shallow water start. The bike starts as flat to rolling then to hills and back to rolling then flat - it's a pretty ride through farms and country roads. The run was an out-and-back, with a slight decline out and a slight incline coming back. There was a college competition as well during the r
