I'm an organizer with the race, so this review isn't objective. However, I can give a perspective that racers don't usually see. This race has a very committed and connected core of volunteers and fellow associate organizers. All the organizers are racers. This is a racers race. I organize an entire series of races in the Central PA area, and I have to say that this group is unique. They bring the same passion to race day as a participant; as they do to their jobs as organizers of this race. It's a dedicated bunch. The venue is beautiful. It's a great race for fans (as all transitions take place in one area). It's a great day and a fun theme (who doesn't like 60's music and letting your freak flag fly?) The swim is in the Susquehanna, so it will never be the same swim two years in a row. It's tough, but held in a part of the river, known to locals as "the pond" so the current is very minimal under ordinary circumstances (undetectable to most racers). However, each year will be different. The bike leg has some sections that are sublime. One tough climb. Some roads in rough condition, but that's what you get on a rural course. It's strengths are also it's weaknesses. The run is flat and covers some very historic parts of town. Lots of bridges and views and city streets. Very enjoyable and a great final leg to what is becoming a very popular race. Hope you enjoy it. Peace man.

Thanks so much to all the race organizers and volunteers for putting on a fantastic race, in a great location, on a beautiful day! To my eyes anyway, everything went off flawlessly. I had a great time and look forward to doing it again next year and participating in more River Town Series events. __J. Dixon

Great race for my first Oylmpic tri - I don't know if I'd say the hills on the bike course were "rolling" though...they were TOUGH! Overall I was extremely satisfied.
