This race is PERFECT for the beginner, like myself. I observed the crowd on race day and saw 11 year olds, soccer moms and serious triathletes. The swim is indoors (snake course in 50 meter competition pool) the bike/run course was flat but not wooded. The event is in July, so prepare to be hot. 2009 was the inaugural event, there were a few kinks to iron out, but I anticipate next years event will run much smoother.
