A good tri for all ability levels. It definitely stretches the beginner with a hilly ride and run.

This was my first triathlon and I loved it! There was a true sense of camaraderie among the participants and the race organizers. Race was very well organized and everyone from the volunteers, neighbors along the bike route, and vetran participants were there to cheer you on at every hill and transition. I rated the run as hard because I am NOT a runner and there were some hills in there that were difficult for me to "run" up. ( I walked up, ran down)The course takes you around Centennial lake but there is

This was my first tri and first Iron Girl. The bike course is all hills and the run course has a few hills that were tough for me after that bike ride. That said, the participants and volunteers were incredibly encouraging and the practice swim in the lake about a month before helped me a ton. I'll be back next year!

This was my Iron Girl and my first tri. I think the difficulty ratings vary based on your strong suites. This race is extremely well organized. The support from the community and other athletes is WONDERFUL. This is a great first race course, challenging but still doable. So much fun! I highly recommend it for all!

I've done this event each year they've had it and love it. Courses are challenging enough for seasoned triathletes and short enough for first-timers (or those who train minimally like me). One benefit is organized bikes of the bike course and a practice swim in the lake prior to the event. Prepare to be encouraged and inspired!

Iron Girl 2009 was a fantastic event. This was my first Tri and it met and exceeded my expectations. Im hooked! The water was a little murky but once the sun broke through the clouds it turned out a beautiful day. The hills on the bike course were challenging but there was so much support on the course I didn't even feel my legs burning. I would definitely do this Tri again. Iron Girl rocked!

Great for a beginner, but course is tough and hills are challenging. Water is warm...no wetsuit needed.
