This is a wonderful Triathlon to race in!!! The race takes place at Lake Tanglewood a private community in one of the many canyons in the West Texas area. The race starts with the swim at Lake Tanglewood, the off on the bike up and out of the canyon with BO Hill, then with the run through the private community of Lake Tanglewood. The event is very well organized with Friday check in at the Holiday Inn in Amarillo, TX. There they have everything ready for each racer. You check in get your chip then off to the other stations at the expo. You get your t-shirt, goodie bag, snacks, get your bike tuned up, and purchase any race needs you have. Also at the Expo is where you can get free race items. This race benefits the local Children's Miracle Network so if you choose to fundraise via the online campaign you can receive anything from race socks to an iPod. Here is this year's race fundraising page... https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/LoginRegister.aspx?EventID=40593&LangPref=en-CA The race begins Saturday morning and then the party starts. The awards are presented with lunch, drinks and even a band. This is the only fully outdoor triathlon in the Texas Panhandle, and it benefits Children's Miracle Network. http://tritomakeadifference.org/
