XTerra Applachia was a lot of fun, despite a VERY muddy course this year. The swim was a straightforward out and back in the lake, with a group start. This was followed by a mountain bike course which probably would have been about a 2 out of 4 on difficulty had it not rained for weeks striaght prior to the race. The course was not very technical, but there were 2 or 3 big hills involved. There was a lot of nice scenery along the way as well. The run was a nice 4 mile loop on trails, with some light uphills involved, but nothing major. Overall, it was a very fun course, the XTerra competitors are incredibly friendly, and the race is wayyyyy fun. I can't wait to do this one again!
